Grants from Foundations

Foundation Grants are “free” cash money awards which go to the general public. They are provided by private foundations and non-profit organizations, and they are awarded to assist people with specific needs and help fund various causes like business, education, medicine, housing, and environmental issues etc.

There are literally hundreds of thousands of private foundations and Non-profit organizations which give away over 100 billion dollars every year.  There are private foundations which are required by law to “give away” a minimum of 5%  of  their assets each year or they can loose their non-profit status. Many of these organizations are well known, like The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Getty Foundation, or The Ford Foundation. However most people don’t realize that there are thousands and thousands of others which give out cash awards. For example, there are non–profit organizations right now, who are giving out Free money for a down payment on purchasing a new home.  They have already given away hundreds of millions of dollars, and are still doing it.  The fact is the government has close to 14,000 different programs but in the “private sector” like foundation grants there are just as many. Sometimes it’s just a matter of asking for the money.

Don’t wait, if you need money for a business idea, education, or real estate, fill out an application. If you need money for a specific cause or other area, fill out an application. Remember many of the grants are awarded to help solve a problem, so if you have a cause or idea that can help people, your community, or even the world, then definitely fill out an application.
